A denture is a replacement for missing teeth. A complete denture for the whole mouth replaces all natural and missing teeth in the mouth. A denture is also called a dental prosthesis.
A complete denture does not have any natural teeth to hold it in the mouth. Therefore, it should be placed on dental implants in each jaw. The dental implants hold the denture in its place in the mouth.
A complete denture without dental implants will cause wounds and bruises in the mouth while talking, eating, and chewing because it will not stay in one position in the mouth without the dental implants.
A complete denture is also called a full denture, whole denture, whole mouth denture, complete dental prosthesis, total dental prosthesis, and denture for the whole mouth.

There are 2 types of denture for the whole mouth: Removable denture, and Fixed denture
In this, the denture is removable and not permanently fixed on dental implants. It is removed and cleaned daily. A removable
denture needs at least 2 dental implants in each jaw (total 4 dental implants), while a fixed denture needs at least 4 dental implants (total 8 dental implants) in each jaw.
In this, the denture is permanently fixed on dental implants using screws. It requires cleaning by a dentist once in a few years. A fixed denture
needs at least 4 dental implants in each jaw (total 8 dental implants), while a removable denture needs at least 2 dental implants (total 4 dental implants) in each jaw.

A dental implant surgery is done in two parts. In the first part, dental implants are placed in the jaw bone, and in the second part, a denture is placed over the dental implants.
First Visit: The first visit is of 4-5 days. In this visit, dental implants are placed. It takes 45-60 minutes to insert one dental implant. After the surgery, you can resume your daily work after 2-3 days. The denture is not yet placed in this surgery because the bone needs time to heal completely.
Healing / Waiting Time: The healing / waiting time is of 2 months. During this period, you can wear a temporary denture it does not affect the healing.
Second Visit: The second visit is of 6-7 days. In this, a denture of 28 teeth is placed over the dental implants that were inserted in the jaws in the first visit. No healing time is required after this.
Fixed teeth are a dental bridge of tooth crowns. Instead of a denture, fixed teeth can also be permanently placed on the dental implants.
Fixed teeth are better than a denture but cost more. Fixed teeth last longer than a denture, and do not discolor with time.
There are 2 types material used to make dentures: Hard acrylic denture, and Flexible elastic denture.
An acrylic denture is harder than a flexible denture and stays more firm in the mouth. It is used in complete denture, and fixed
denture on dental implants. A hard acrylic denture is used over dental implants because it stays firm in the mouth over dental implants.
A flexible denture is made from soft plastic and bends more than a hard acrylic denture. It is used only in partial denture and complete denture
without dental implants. It cannot be used over dental implants because it can lose the hold of dental implants because of its softness.
A complete denture is very expensive in USA, but you can save a lot of money by traveling to an affordable location outside of USA for 4-5 days for the dental treatment.
For example, at our clinic, the cost of a complete denture with 4 dental implants in each jaw (total 8
dental implants) is $ 2040 which is 8 times lower than the average cost of $ 16470 in USA. So, you can save a lot of money, and at the same time enjoy a free holiday trip.
